The Conspirator - Directed by Robert Redford
A sleeper of a movie, set just after the Civil War, “The Conspirator” brings up a ridiculous amount of questions about our nation, the assumption of innocence, and many of our rights as citizens. It doesn’t seek to re-try Mary Surratt for her crimes, but examine just how unfair her military tribunal was, as opposed to what rights she deserved as a civilian and what kind of trial she should have received.
