On a Sunday morning after Mass, across the street from Oregon’s Let ‘Er Buck Motel, where they had spent the night, Senator Kennedy, Jacqueline and Steve Smith sit to breakfast in a diner, totally ignored by the rest of the patrons. Six months later, that neglect would turn out to have been a luxury as huge excited crowds would flock to see, hear, and touch them!
