Houston, we have LINSANITY!

Ooooh!!!!! I excite!!! :o)
All kinds of landmines on Tumblr tonight…
From domestic violence to racism in words (how the hell does anyone truly “reclaim” a slur word - it’s not possible, just not possible) to abortion…
So much offending and so little time… Doing some actual work never sounded so good.
But, my thoughts:
If the woman forgives him, then let her have her own opinions. If she’s crazy and stupid enough to let the man back into her life, you have to let her. Judge her, all you want, but if you don’t like her actions and you continue to monetarily support her or advertise her or even play one of her songs? Then, you are as dumb as she is. It’s her life, she can do with it as she pleases, that doesn’t mean you have to watch or support it. Wish her the best and hope he’s learned his lesson (even though society and history of other offenders says he probably hasn’t). But, you don’t have to watch or be a product of the relationship. No, really.
There is no such thing as re-appropriating offensive words. If it is offensive in ONE context, it is offensive in ALL contexts. As cute as JFK using the “Muckers” as the name of his little club in high school was, it was still a highly offensive word, and still is to those that know what it means. It’s close to “Mick”. When someone calls you a bitch or c*** and you use that term with your friends and refer to yourself with those words, why do you get offended? You can beat yourself down, but strangers can’t? Uhmmm…. well, that’s more hypocritical than anything on this planet. If you don’t like the word when other people use it to describe you, you can’t like the word to describe yourself as a whole. Anything else is just rationalizing and, with enough time, we can rationalize anything… That doesn’t make it right. If a word is offensive, it is offensive. Period.
Abortion. I don’t think I even have the strength, but I want to reblog this one blog so badly… but, I can’t… I just can’t… the other two were argumentative enough. I think I’m going to excuse myself from the social media world after tonight. Agree or disagree or agree to disagree.
…..and, we’re still NOT paying attention to the economy.
